A bipartisan group of nearly 40 members of the Tennessee General Assembly will on Wednesday announce the launch of the Tennessee Legislative Wellness Caucus, a group that “will be focused on studying and developing solutions to the health and wellness issues facing citizens of our state,” according to a release.
The caucus was developed in partnership with the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness, which will share the results of a new study on the economic impact of chronic diseases in Tennessee. The Governor’s Foundation commissioned the new, nonpartisan think tank the Sycamore Institute to conduct the study.
The new caucus will be co-chaired by Rep. Ryan Williams and Sen. Bo Watson.
Health plan for musicians launched
Nashville-based insurance organization Sound Healthcare & Financial has announced the formation of a true group health insurance plan with BlueCross BlueShield for members of the Nashville Musicians Association.
According to Sound Healthcare Founder and CEO RJ Stillwell, such a group plan for Nashville musicians “has never been done before.”
“Although we’ve been providing musicians, artists, and songwriters innovative healthcare solutions for over 10 years, this is, without question, the most monumental achievement for our music community in our company’s history,” he said in a release.
The group plan is exclusively available to members of the Nashville Musicians Association AFM Local 257.
